Carnival in TnT - Mercenary's Paradise

Carnival this year is not for the poor. Ive been waiting all year for the season and it's disappointing so far. Where do these people get off charging this kind of money for these tickets? Ticket prices have gone up as much as 50 percent from last year. Soon carnival will be for the rich and the dumb.

Im thinking Insomnia is it for me. I'll let Kiwi and Peanut enjoy themselves. Maybe when i get a job I will enjoy it to its fullest:)

As of right now Insomnia tickets 220TT and rising by the second (hell no im not paying that kinda money... I got me a deal)
Girl Power 160TT

Exchange rate 2.83TT = 1BDS

I Remember Why I Dont Go To Church
I hope no one is offended by this blog
We had a lecture today titled Principles of Bioethics. I hate these kinds of lectures. You cant teach someone ethics. At best you can talk about the legislation in place to help Doctors be ethical and at worst the lecturer makes an effort to justify his opinion and foist his view upon those listening. It makes for interesting conversation/debate but its one of those things where most of the time there isnt a clear cut right or wrong.

The invited speaker was a priest. It was nothing more than a sermon on why abortion is bad and why human life is important because we are all God's children. He's a Trinidadian, he should know better. Here I am sitting next to my Hindu friend thinking about the insensitivity of this dude. Speaking with all the certainty in the world that his views are correct blah blah blah.

So I pass on the whole religion thing. I refuse to have someone of flesh and blood and sins and longings just like flawed ol me tell me what God wants me to do. What God thinks and what God thinks is right and wrong. My connection to Him is direct thanks. I wouldnt want anything to get lost in translation.

I mean how can he know with such absolute certainty who God would chose to live if the birth of a child would cause the death of its mother?

I could go on for hours.

Its about bloody time. The church has a responsibility to "bend the rules" in the face of the onslaught of this disease. Especially when so many look to them for guidance. Obviously the best thing would be if people kept their "gift" to themselves til they were married and then if each person in a marriage was monogamous but thats not reality. Times change and Im glad the church has finally seen fit to evolve to suit the needs of the people.

just my opinion:)

Hopeful - Yes I Am
I just finished watching the reunion of the Biggest Loser. It was amazing. Can you imagine losing 25% of your body weight?

Weight loss is really the thing to do now. Its like I came back to school and everyone is a fraction of their former self.

But Ive also noticed a couple things... Theres a definite point where skinny looks bad.

So folks keep this in mind when youre losing your pounds
Neither your head nor your teeth shrink

talking about that dont you love that song with Twista featuring Faith Evans?

School Tomorrow
Im melancholy.
Is it me or am I much more melancholy much more often than the average person?
I think so.

One more semester of school. School is such a comfy place to be. You dont have to worry about anything but getting decent grades and which ever boyfriend it is that tickles your fancy at the moment.

Goals for this semester... continue getting B+'s or above. Try to study this time around. Focus less on relationships and more on school. Quit the procrastination.
hmmm....

lets see what I can do.
